About the Film
At its core, A Penny Made in Heaven is about a daughter learning to trust herself in the wake of loss. It is a story of grief, family, and the enduring bond between mother and daughter.
Grounded and deeply human, the film presents intuition as a natural part of emotional life rather than as something extraordinary or supernatural. It honors the quiet truth that children often sense things long before they have the words to explain what they feel.
Character driven and emotionally intimate, A Penny Made in Heaven is ultimately a story about quiet courage, enduring love, and the unseen ways we remain connected to those we love.

Creative Vision
The creative vision for A Penny Made in Heaven is rooted in an emotional understanding of loss, caregiving, and the enduring bond between mother and daughter. While the film is not an adaptation of Wendy J. Menara’s memoir, it is autobiographical in spirit. Like Penny, Wendy lost her mother as a young girl, an experience that shaped much of her life and creative work.
The film grew from a desire to tell a tender, hopeful story about a teenage girl losing her mother, holding her family together, and learning to trust her intuition.
